Disney quietly did something pretty cool ahead of May the 4th this year. They launched the first-ever Star Wars Spirit Jersey Mystery Box for adults, and if you’re into blind box collecting or just really love vintage Star Wars artwork, this one is worth paying attention to.
Each box contains one of seven possible Spirit Jersey designs featuring retro concept art from the Skywalker Saga. Episodes I through VI each get their own design, and then there’s a seventh — a secret chaser design that Disney hasn’t revealed to anyone. The odds of pulling it are 1 in 36, which in collector terms means it’s genuinely rare and not just marketing speak.
The jerseys themselves look great. Think classic movie poster style artwork on a full pullover Spirit Jersey with dropped shoulders and long sleeves. Very wearable, very displayable, very Star Wars. Each box also comes with a collector card, which is a nice touch.
Pricing sits at $99.99 for a single mystery box or $599.99 for a set of six. The set guarantees you six of the seven designs but still doesn’t lock in the chaser, so even going all in doesn’t mean you’ll complete the set. That’s the nature of the chase.
The drop went live April 24 on DisneyStore.com as part of Disney’s weekly Star Wars merch rollout leading up to May the 4th. Availability has already been moving fast so if you’re thinking about it, sooner is better than later.
